WIN RLE - Refractive Lens Exchange

Don't be disappointed if you are denied for WINLASIK and WIN ICL procedure for your eyes We have WIN RLE for you. This procedure is similar to the cataract surgery. Here, the clear crystalline lens inside the eye is removed & replaced by an intraocular lens (Multifocal/Trifocal/ Accommodating IOLs). At WINVISION this procedure is done with the help of Femtosecond Laser (complete blade free and with disposables). This procedure is simple safe and very precise.

LASIK (laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis) is a refractive procedure done to correct nearsightedness (myopia), far-sightedness (hyperopia) and astigmatism. LASIK reshapes the shape of the Cornea so that the power of glasses is almost eliminated.

During LASIK, a thin corneal flap is made and raised (less than 150 microns) and the shape of cornea is altered with laser beam after which the corneal flap is replaced. The total procedure time on each eye is around 2-5 minutes. The procedure I done under topical anesthesia drops and the patient is asked to look straight, not to move the eyes and be completely relaxed. The surgeon always help the patient by communicating to him/her.
LASIK was 1st introduced in the year 1989 and since then it has been performed in millions of eyes successfully. It is a very safe procedure with very qick recovery time period. It is the 2nd most common surgical procedure performed in the eye around the world. It is also the most commonly performed cosmetic procedure in the eye.
There are two types of techniques to raise the corneal flap. Blade LASIK uses a specialized automated blade called the Microkeratome (120 to 140 microns). It is able to raise a thin flap of cornea. Femtosecond laser uses a femtosecond laser beam for making the flap. The Femto flap is more thinner (90-110 microns), smoother and safer than the microkeratome. The decision to use an femtosecond laser flap technique is based on the pre-operative investigations and the surgeon's assessment of the need.
Clarity of vision gradually improves over the next few days to its maximal level. Some patients may experience some difficulty while reading on the 1st post- operative day which soon recovers.
NO. LASIK treatment has been done to reduce your dependence on glasses. You will not be requiring glasses for your routine work.
YES.. LASIK laser treatment permanently modulates the corneal shape.
LASIK is a once-in-a-lifetime procedure in almost all patients. Very few patients may require enhancement LASIK if the needs arises so within the limits of the procedure.
NO. There is no pain during or after the procedure. The patient may feel some pressure over the eye which lasts for a few seconds.
Topical anesthetic drops are applied. No injections are given to the eye.
LASIK is one of the safest procedures performed over the eye all over the world. The safety profile of LASIK procedure is very high. The LASIK machine is mostly automated and operated by highly skilled refractive surgeons thus increasing the success rates.
YES. LASIK is always performed on both eyes one by one in the same sitting.
No. LASIK is a day-care procedure. You will have to arrive in the morning on the surgery appointment day and can go back by afternoon. The day of surgery you should take rest at home.
NO. There is no need of bed rest or restricting your daily routine. Few precautions are essential to be taken care of. These are general precautions given to all patients undergoing surgical procedures in the eye.
NO. As the clarity of vision takes a few days to improve, a few patients may experience halos and glare in the initial , this may resolve by few months in some people. Thus driving should be restricted at least for a month. Protective glasses should be worn all time during driving for at least a month.
NO. All these exercises are not to be performed for at least a month to three after LASIK. The LASIK flap is very thin and any strenuous exercise can disturb the flap.
NO. LASIK does not change the appearance of the eyes.
NO. LASIK should be avoided during pregnancy and lactation.
Initially you should use computers for shorter durations. Slowly, the durations of use can be increased with frequent breaks in between to give rest to the eye. Religious application of lubricating drops is very essential.
The healing process generally completes within 1 month. As the body response varies from individual to individual and may take longer time, it is recommended to use medications for 6 months.
Depending upon the cooperation levels of the patient and effects of topical drops, it may take from 3-5 hours for complete workup of a LASIK patient.
Initially, you will be checked day one after the procedure . Following this, you will be called after 2 to 4 weeks and thereafter yearly once. As the body's healing process varies from person to person, follow-up visits may vary.
